Escola Utopia is more than just an Art school. Founded in Porto in 1998, its mission has always been to provide creative training for those who seek to express themselves through the visual arts. Today, Utopia continues to be a space for creativity, sharing, and reflection, bringing togheter visual arts education with cultural and community experiences.

Regular Training Programmes

Various areas of visual arts:

Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor);

Plastic Arts for Children and Young People;

Visual Culture.

Weekly classes are led by artist-educators with university-level teaching experience. Classes are available at different times throughout the week and follow a practical and theorical approach, with either a structured or personalised programme tailored to each student's goals.

Occasional workshops are also held with guest artist, technicians and specialist trainers, offering students the opportunity to explore new techniques, perspectives and creative approaches.

Our courses are open to everyone, from complete beginners to advanced students, regardless of previouss experience or level of artistic ability.


Activities " Outside the Gates"

The experience extends beyond the studio through the regular organisation of:

Guide Tours of museum, galleries and exhibition.

International trips focused on contemporary and emerging art and culture.

Lectures and talks on artistic thinking.

Lunches and dinners with the school community.
